Each day features an act of collective worship whether this be whole school or in the class. This is a special time and an important feature of life at St Chad’s. It enhances the Christian foundation of the school and its strong links with our Church. Pupils are often involved in the presentation of worship, as well as visitors.
Acts of worship broadly follow the patterns of Anglican worship and our parish clergy lead weekly acts of collective worship.
Ethos Group lead the school in worship each half term as well as leading prayers during the week.
A ‘Celebration’ assembly takes place each week when we come together to celebrate achievements and reward badges and certificates.
We have recently created a beautiful new outdoor worship area called The Oasis, with the help of Friends, Ethos Group and a local artist. We regularly worship in the Oasis as a whole school and as individual classes. It is a wonderful and very spiritual experience: whilst worshipping we we get to hear the birds sing and hear the water in our fish pond; feel the sunshine and the breeze on our faces; and see our beautiful garden and our inspiring biblical scenes in the Oasis. It is a special place where we can feel peaceful, safe, loved and close to God.
