A very warm welcome to the online home of Year 6 where you will be able to keep up to date with what is happening in our class throughout the year. My name is Mr Blackburn and we will be supported in Year 6 by Mrs Swales and Mr McKay. When I am out of class (Monday and Tuesday afternoon) the class will be taught by Mrs Swales and Mr Cameron.
It is really important that everyone in Year 6 has the right equipment for school each day. Please make sure that the children bring their planners/diaries into school each day as these will be used during our daily Guided Reading sessions. It is essential that your child reads at least three times a week at home, in addition to reading at school too. Please sign your child’s planner each time they read. These will be checked by staff each Friday.
Our PE days are Monday and Friday so please ensure that your child comes to school wearing their full PE on these days. Mr McKay will be supporting the class during each PE lesson.
All children are allowed to bring a named water bottle into school. This should only contain water.
Homework will be given out each Friday and due in the following Friday.
Finally, it is extremely important that you remember that school begins at 8.45am prompt. Your child needs to be here in time for the register each morning or they are missing valuable learning time in this crucial, final year at St Chad’s. Guided Reading sessions will begin at 8.55am each day so anyone arriving after this time will receive a late mark.
