Hello and welcome to Year 3’s class page. Mr Graham is the Class Teacher with Mrs Cassidy acting to support the children. PE will be taking place on Monday and Tuesday, please ensure your child arrives in school PE kit and appropriate footwear. If your child has any form of piercing we ask that these either be removed for the session or that you send your child in with plasters to cover them, this is school policy which helps ensure the safety of all children.
A Home Learning Menu is provided at the start of each term, these provide an opportunity for the children to take ownership over their home learning by selecting from a range of tasks which interest them. We ask that the children complete all core activities provided (Mathematics, Reading, Writing) and select a minimum of two other activities to complete and present to the class. Parents will be invited to a showcase at the end of the term where all completed work will be presented alongside work produced in class.
We encourage our children to read on a regular basis. Once your child has read their book, they can take a quiz which will assess their understanding of the text. It is important that your child’s reading book is in school everyday because there will be opportunities for independent reading throughout the day.
